Hard Intercepting Blocks from Tai Chi
Just wanted to gauge how many people were taught to block/intercept in their Tai ji training.
Considering the long and involved training to learn how to enhance the body's power, it seems strange that most schools of tai chi don't use this in their game.
Comments?

Re: Hard Intercepting Blocks from Tai Chi
When I think of blocking , I think of hitting someones limb hard to make them think twice about using that again. In Pakua my Sifu called it "removing fangs from a snake", however I dont use that tactic to much, i rather use a softer intercepting energy or 'covering' to bridge and enter into the persons space and try to work clinch, tie-ups,and to throw person. They punch or kick which feeds me something to work off of to enter and throw.
